St. Francis’ Episcopal Church in St. Francis Wood marks the feast day of its namesake, the patron saint of animals, with its annual Blessing of the Animals. Bring a dog, cat, rabbit, bird or anything else in your household; the church says all animals are welcome, big or small, and clergy bless them during the gathering.

It is free and open to everyone in the community, of any religious affiliation or none. The church lists it alongside its Sunday choral service on the Feast of St. Francis, and its own event listing gives the blessing as 11:15 am to 12:15 pm. Keep pets leashed or in carriers, and bring treats and water for a stress-free visit.
