The San Francisco Directory is the reference layer of this site: every place we cover in one list, with the details that go out of date fastest kept current. It holds 101 places across 32 San Francisco neighborhoods — museums and galleries, parks and playgrounds, bakeries, coffee bars and ice cream counters, bookshops and family restaurants.

What makes it worth a bookmark is the upkeep rather than the opinions. Every listing carries its opening hours together with the date we last read them on the venue’s own page, and its phone number is checked against that same page rather than copied from an aggregator — where the venue publishes something different, the listing is corrected from it, and where the venue publishes no number at all, we say so instead of guessing. Admission, free days and age limits come from the operator’s own page, never from a review site.
