Mission Bay

Mission Bay is easiest to reach on Muni’s T Third Street light rail, which runs along 3rd Street through the neighborhood. Its stops here are named for what is next to them: 3rd Street and Mission Rock Street, UCSF/Chase Center, and UCSF Medical Center. The T continues south to Bayview and its last stop at Bayshore Boulevard and Sunnydale Avenue. The 22 Fillmore bus also serves the neighborhood; its outbound direction is marked Mission Bay/UCSF.

The Mission Bay Branch Library at 960 Fourth Street opened its doors on July 8, 2006. It sits on the ground floor of the Mission Creek Senior Community development, a building that also includes senior housing. For families, the library is an easy first stop before a walk over to the arena plaza and the UCSF campus, both a short ride or walk along 3rd Street from the library’s corner.
