Project SF

A dark gallery room with lit artwork on the walls

A forty-year-old city-supported cultural centre with a cavernous main gallery, known for large community-curated shows — the annual Day of the Dead exhibition is the best attended of the year. Its residency programme hands the space to guest curators from communities commercial galleries overlook.

One of the few galleries in the city open both weekend days, which with the sheer size of the room makes it a genuine family option. Thursday 3–7pm, Friday noon–7pm, Saturday and Sunday noon–5pm.
