Neighborhood
Dogpatch
The flat, former-industrial blocks along Third Street south of Mission Bay, now San Francisco’s densest concentration of contemporary art galleries.
The Museum of Craft and Design describes its own address, 2569 Third Street between 22nd and 23rd, as sitting in the historic American Industrial Center in “San Francisco’s vibrant Dogpatch neighborhood”. A few blocks north, Minnesota Street Project gathers galleries into converted warehouses at 1275 Minnesota Street and 1150 25th Street; it is open to the public, admission is free, and its atrium is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 6pm, though individual galleries keep their own hours and some are by appointment.
Minnesota Street Project says its buildings are within four blocks of the T Third Street Muni Metro, the 48 bus stop and the 22nd Street Caltrain station, and that there is free street parking around the neighborhood. The Museum of Craft and Design adds that the T Third and the 48, 15 and 55 bus stops are all within one block of the museum.

About Dogpatch
Dogpatch is a small, flat, former-industrial neighborhood on the bay side of Potrero Hill, running along Third Street between Mission Bay and the 22nd Street Caltrain station.
Its draw for visitors is art: Minnesota Street Project's free galleries at 1275 Minnesota Street, and the Museum of Craft and Design in the American Industrial Center on Third Street.
The T Third Muni Metro runs the length of the neighborhood, and the 22nd Street Caltrain station is at its edge.
Our neighborhood lines are based on DataSF's Analysis Neighborhoods, adjusted where visitors use a smaller area or a different name: Dogpatch and Fisherman's Wharf stand on their own, and the Richmond and the Sunset are each kept whole.
