Project SF

A grand museum hall with a skeleton suspended overhead

A free hands-on museum on the side of Corona Heights, with a live animal room, science and nature activities, a woodshop and a model railroad. It is scaled for small children in a way the big museums are not, and the hilltop outside has one of the better city views.

The thing that catches people out: it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Tuesday to Saturday 10am–5pm, free.
