On the first Sunday of each month, a band of local students plays a set at Glen Park’s Bird & Beckett bookshop, then hosts a jam session for other young musicians. November’s band is the Lick-Wilmerding High School Jazz Ensemble.
It runs 5 to 7 p.m. as the shop’s Sunday happy hour, with a sliding-scale price, and the organizers invite you to bring the kids. A bookshop rather than a bar, so all ages.
