San Francisco residents get free zoo admission with proof of residency. The zoo notes free-day dates can change, so check before you go.
Wednesday, November 4
The zoo lists this date as 9 am to 3 pm.
The zoo sets the hours on each free day’s own event page: 10 am to 4 pm on October 7 and 9 am to 3 pm on November 4. Bring a government-issued ID that shows SF residency to the area where tickets are scanned; the zoo allows one free admission per ID.
Correction, 28 September 2026: this listing said the free day ran until 5 pm (the zoo’s closing time); the zoo’s events calendar lists the SF Resident Free Day as 10 am to 4 pm.
