Pluralities Project: “The Negro Artist” Screening & Live Awards

Thu, Nov 5 · 6:30 pm · McKenna Theatre, SF State

The warmly lit interior of a historic theater with balconies and a closed stage curtain

The Documentary Film Institute at San Francisco State University closes the sixth Pluralities Project with a screening of The Negro Artist, presented by filmmaker Nik Heftman and poet Caleb Rainey. The evening continues with the Accomplice Awards, honoring artists, activists and cultural figures who have brought important issues to light. This year’s posthumous honorees are Belva Davis, George Osterkamp and Greg Tate.

Part of the sixth Pluralities Seminar, the night brings together film, poetry, journalism and cultural history at McKenna Theatre on the SF State campus. The event is listed as free, but check the LCA Live website for ticketing and entry details before you go.
