Questions People Ask About San Francisco’s Hometown Creamery (Hayes Valley)

Does Hometown Creamery have vegan ice cream?

Yes. The shop says it always has at least two dairy-free or vegan options: the chocolate sorbet is always available, and a second dairy-free flavour rotates about every month.

Is Hometown Creamery ice cream gluten free?

Most of it is. The exceptions are the flavours with cookie or cake pieces in them. Tubs in the shop carry clear labels for common allergens, and staff will check if you ask.

How does Hometown Creamery handle a severe allergy?

Staff use a new scoop from a fresh tub so there is no risk of cross-contamination, on top of labelling allergenic ingredients. Tell the person serving you before you order.

What time does the Hayes Valley Hometown Creamery close?

10 pm, every day. It opens at noon.
