From the organizers: “The Outer Sunset Farmers Market & Mercantile is where the neighborhood comes alive every Sunday, bringing together fresh produce, lively entertainment, and the kind of community spirit that keeps people coming back week after week.”
The market runs every Sunday from 9am to 2pm, year-round and rain or shine, on 37th Avenue between Ortega and Quintara streets. More than 60 rotating vendors fill two blocks: farmers with produce, honey, cheese, baked goods, fresh pasta, flowers and wild-caught fish on one, food trucks on the other, plus vintage clothing, jewelry, an eco-friendly refillery and handmade candles. There is live music, arts and games at the Artship, and free yoga on the greenway at 9am on the first and third Sundays. This fall it hosts three free celebrations: Halloween on October 25, Día de los Muertos on November 1 and Diwali on November 8. Each celebration’s details show above when it is the next date.
Good to know: dogs are not allowed inside the market (California law for certified farmers markets, service animals excepted), so walk them on the sidewalk outside. There is no parking lot, but there is street parking around the market, and Muni lines 7, 29 and 48 serve the area. CalFresh/EBT and WIC are accepted, and all Sunset Mercantile events are smoke-free.
