Muni One-Pager: Fares, Lines and Cable Cars on One Printable Page

A printable one-page Muni guide for visitors: fares, cable car rules, the lines visitors use most and where to get SFMTA's official map.

A cable car climbing a San Francisco hill between trees and tall buildings.

Print this page and keep it with SFMTA’s official system map. Fares, the lines a visitor uses most, cable car rules and the phone numbers, on one sheet. Everything here is from SFMTA or BART and was read on 3 November 2026.

Fares as SFMTA lists them today; SFMTA’s fare page gives no effective date. Check sfmta.com before you travel.

Phones and Apps

  • 311 for city services, 24/7.
  • MuniMobile app for tickets. Single Ride Passes are no longer sold there after September 1, 2026.
  • SFMTA runs an elevator status page and a 311 line for accessibility questions.

Official Map

  • Muni System Service Map, June 2025: sfmta.com/maps/muni-service-map
  • Route pages with live arrivals: sfmta.com/routes
  • We do not reproduce SFMTA’s map here. Print it from SFMTA.

Why This Page Is Short

The longer version, with the BART station table and what the lines connect to, is Getting Around San Francisco. Which one to ride is in Muni vs BART vs Cable Car. For kids and strollers: riding with kids. Which event venues have step-free access: Access Facts.

At Chase Center, the venue’s ticket page says you can ride Muni free on event day with your ticket. Read the terms on Chase Center’s page before you count on it.

What We Could Not Confirm

  • Fares have no effective date on SFMTA’s page.
  • Cable car operating hours for Powell-Mason and California. We read only the Powell-Hyde page (7 a.m. to 11 p.m.).
  • Muni bus boarding rules for wheelchairs and strollers. We read the Metro page, not the bus one.
  • Whether the Chase Center free-ride offer applies to every event.

Questions People Ask

Does the visitor passport cover cable cars?

Yes. SFMTA lists the 1-day, 3-day and 7-day passports as covering Muni, Metro, historic streetcars and cable cars.

SFMTA says a chip-enabled credit or debit card now pays an adult single ride, and Clipper works on all Bay Area transit.
