Neighborhood of the Month

One San Francisco neighborhood each month: what to see, what is on this month, and past picks, from our own neighborhood guides.

Each month one of San Francisco’s 32 neighborhoods gets the spotlight: a short introduction, what is on its calendar, and a link to the full guide.

The pick changes on the first of the month and follows the clock, not a typed date.

November 2026

Presidio

The Presidio is not really a neighborhood, it is a 1,500-acre national park inside the city that happens to have houses, restaurants and a bowling alley in it.

What To See

  • Presidio Tunnel Tops: Twenty-five acres of new parkland on the roof of the highway tunnels, with the bridge straight ahead and food trucks most days.
  • Fort Point: A brick Civil War fort tucked directly under the south end of the bridge. Open Thursday to Monday, 10am to 5pm.
  • Walt Disney Family Museum: The story of Disney the man, told in original art and early animation. Open Thursday to Sunday.
  • Baker Beach: The bridge view everyone photographs, with free parking and restrooms.

Past Picks

This is the first pick. Past picks will be listed here as the months go by.

Coming Up Next

How the pick is made: the month number chooses one of our 32 neighborhood guides in a fixed order, so every neighborhood gets a turn and nobody pays to be picked. It is not a ranking and not a rating. The text and events come from the neighborhood's own guide and our event calendar.

What We Could Not Confirm

  • Opening hours and event details change; confirm with the venue or organizer.
  • The neighborhood text is from our own guide for that neighborhood, which names its own sources.
