The San Francisco Zoo & Gardens holds its one-day Halloween festival on Saturday, October 31, from 10am to 3pm. The zoo encourages creative, original costumes: the costume parade starts at 11am and the costume contest at noon.
Boo at the Zoo activities are free with paid daytime zoo admission or a zoo membership, so it suits families already planning a zoo day. The zoo asks guests not to wear full-face masks, because they can easily startle the animals.
