The Jesuit parish church on the University of San Francisco campus, at Parker Avenue and Fulton Street. Its dome and towers rise over the west side and, in the parish’s words, draw gazes from nearly every quarter of the city.
The parish’s first church was a simple wooden building on Market Street, dedicated in 1855; the present church rose after the 1906 earthquake and fire. Sunday Masses are at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., with a Saturday vigil at 5 p.m.; weekday Mass is at 8 a.m. and Saturday morning Mass at 9 a.m. The parish office is open weekdays 9 to 5. The free Thacher Gallery in USF’s Gleeson Library is right behind the church.
