Myths of the Ancient Future is a group exhibition curated by Meagan Boyd at SWIM Gallery. It brings together contemporary artists whose work explores mythology, mysticism, folklore and visionary art, and asks what a living mythology can say about the future. It suits anyone who likes painting, sculpture and big ideas, and it opens alongside Boyd’s solo show, Garden in the Shape of a Girl.
The opening is on Friday, November 13, 2026. An artist panel moderated by Jessica Hundley runs from 5 to 6 PM, followed by the opening reception until 9 PM. The gallery is at 509 Ellis Street in the Tenderloin. The exhibition then runs through January 2027. The gallery has not published a ticket price, regular viewing hours or a closing date for the show, so check its page or ask before you go.
Dates, times and the program are from SWIM Gallery’s current exhibition page. The street address was given by the venue and matches public listings, but it is not printed on the exhibition page. The map pin is an approximate location for the venue street.
