Chase Center: Getting There on Game Day

How to reach Chase Center in Mission Bay: your event ticket is your Muni fare, plus event trains, the 78X express and street closures, per SFMTA.

At Chase Center, your event ticket is your Muni fare for the whole day. That is SFMTA’s rule, and it works on Metro, bus and any ticketed event that uses Chase Center’s ticketing system, which SFMTA says is nearly all of them.

The arena is at 3rd and 16th streets in Mission Bay. SFMTA says on-site parking is extremely limited and urges guests to use public transit.

Getting There by Muni

  • T Third: during events SFMTA adds trains about every 10 minutes, with “S Shuttle Mission Bay” head signs, serving all stops between Chinatown-Rose Pak Station and UCSF/Chase Center.
  • 78X 16th Street Arena Express: runs between Chase Center and 16th St. Mission BART, from 2.5 hours before an event until 1 hour after.
  • 22 Fillmore serves the arena on its regular schedule. The 48 Quintara and 55 Dogpatch stop about four blocks away.
  • Late night: the 91 3rd Street/19th Avenue Owl stops at 3rd St and Warriors Way about every 30 minutes.

Using Your Ticket as Your Fare

Show your event ticket, printed or on your phone, at Muni fare gates and to station agents. On a bus or train you can board by any door, and you do not need to show the ticket to the driver. Keep it handy: SFMTA says a transit fare inspector who asks for proof and does not get it can issue a proof-of-payment fine.

BART, Caltrain, Ferry, Taxi and Bikes

  • BART: from Powell, change to the T Third or S Shuttle at Union Square/Market Street. From 16th St. Mission, change to the 78X. BART will not hold trains after events.
  • Caltrain: ride to San Francisco Station, then take the T Third from 4th St between King and Berry to UCSF/Chase Center. SFMTA says the walk is about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Ferry: SFMTA points to San Francisco Bay Ferry for details.
  • Taxis: one taxi stand on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard. Ramp taxis use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.
  • Bikes: free monitored bike parking on 16th Street on the south side of the arena, with overflow racks and Bay Wheels stations nearby.

Street Closures and Parking

  • From two hours before until one hour after each event: 16th St and Warriors Way between 3rd St and Terry Francois Blvd are closed. Northbound Illinois St between Mariposa and 16th St is local access only.
  • From 30 minutes before until 45 minutes after: northbound 3rd St between 16th St and Warriors Way is closed.
  • Meters near the arena charge a special event rate of $8 an hour during events with more than 10,000 expected, per SFMTA.
