The free events on our calendar for this weekend, ranked with a plain rule set and a reason for every pick.
Every pick links to its event page and says why it made the list. If fewer than 10 events qualify, the list is shorter and tells you so.
Friday, November 6 to Sunday, November 8. We found only 9 free events on our calendar for these days, so this list has 9, not 10. We would rather show fewer than pad it. Know one we are missing? Send it in.

How We Pick
These are rule-based picks from our own event calendar, not reviews, ratings or sponsored spots. Nobody pays to be listed and we link no tickets. Events earn points for: happening only on the weekend shown, a short run rather than a months-long one, the tag the list is about, matching other tags, and having a time, a venue, a description and a picture on file. Ties go to the earlier start. Each pick states the reason it scored.
The list rebuilds from the calendar on its own, and the weekend it shows follows the clock in San Francisco. After 7 p.m. on Sunday it moves to the following weekend.
What We Could Not Confirm
- Prices and times come from each event page and the organizer’s listing. Check the organizer before you go; they change.
- An event with no price on file shows ‘Price not listed’ and is never counted as free.
- We have not visited these events. A pick is a calendar match, not a quality judgment.

Questions People Ask
What counts as free here?
An event whose listed price begins with the word Free. Events with an entry fee, a tasting pass or a required paid admission are left out, and events with no price on file are never counted.
Why are there sometimes fewer than 10?
Because we show only what our calendar holds for the weekend. We would rather show six real picks than pad the list.
Does it change during the week?
Yes. It rebuilds from the calendar and follows the San Francisco clock, so a finished event drops off.
