The 38th annual San Francisco Old Car Picnic fills Hellman Hollow (the historic Speedway Meadow) in Golden Gate Park on Saturday, October 17, with gates open from 7am to 4pm. Owners bring classic cars, trucks and motorcycles from 2001 or older and set up picnics beside them.
Spectators get in free (showing a vehicle costs $40 for cars and trucks, $20 for motorcycles and $10 for bicycles). The organizers say everyone is welcome and invite visitors to bring a barbecue and a camera, which makes it an easy outing for car-loving kids and grandparents alike.
Alcohol and age policy: there is no age limit; the picnic’s code of conduct asks attendees who drink to use alcohol responsibly.
