Two Days in San Francisco: Waterfront, Park and Coast

A two-day San Francisco itinerary: our one-day route, then Golden Gate Park and the coast, with a route map on our pins.

The Golden Gate Bridge seen through pine and cypress branches from a hill.
The Golden Gate Bridge from Buena Vista Park, per the photographer.

Day one is our one-day route, unchanged. Day two moves west to Golden Gate Park and the ocean, so the two days do not overlap.

A 1-day Muni visitor passport is $15 and a single cable car ride is $9, per SFMTA (the figures on our one-day page, read October 27, 2026).

Stops link to our place pages. Fares as read on October 27, 2026; everything else is on the linked pages with its own check date.

What We Could Not Confirm

  • Walking and riding times between stops: we did not confirm them from an official source, so none are listed. The map draws straight lines between pins; they are not walking routes. Use SFMTA or a map app for live directions.
  • Hours and prices: each stop’s own page on this site links to the operator and shows the date we checked. Confirm before you go.
  • Which museum you can fit on day two: that depends on the day. Check each museum’s page for free days and hours.
